05. Gender-Diverse Ākonga: In-Depth Review of Inclusive Practice
In this in-depth review, you will learn about gender-diverse identities and statistics in New Zealand. Inclusive education will be the focus and you will apply the principles of inclusive practice to gender-diverse identities, acknowledging best practice guidelines. Areas where teacher aides can make a difference will be discussed in greater detail.
Little knowledge is assumed.
There is an option to add a 45-minute kōrero and kai session.
Time: 2 hours.

06. Inclusive Education and Gender Diversity Masterclass
This half-day course covers all the fundamentals of gender diversity, statistics, and inclusive practices within a New Zealand context. You will learn about how to be an advocate and ally to gender-diverse ākonga and apply your knowledge of inclusive practice to everyday ways you can create safe learning environments.
This session will focus on group activities and discussion, including some of the difficult conversations surrounding gender diversity and applying these to the schools/Kāhui Ako you work in.
This will cover both basic and more complex principles, so both those with little or some experience with inclusive education or gender diversity will benefit.
We may be able to match some content to the unique contexts of your school/Kāhui Ako and the ākonga you work with.
Kai will be provided, such as morning or afternoon tea.
Time: Half-day (~3-4 hours).
Delivery mode: In-person.
Price: $600. This includes kai and kōrero.
